(Los Angeles, CA) Bob Hope USO at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has a new address today, after moving earlier this morning into the ground level of the iconic Theme Building on Center Way.
The new center is about double the size of the previous USO facility located near Terminal 2, providing 7,100 square feet to serve current members of the military and their families traveling through LAX.
(Los Angeles, CA) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Board of Airport Commissioners (BOAC) approved a contract for a not-to-exceed amount of $209M to Swinerton Builders to design and construct the Intermodal Transportation Facility – West (ITF-West), an integral component of the Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP).
A longtime LAX icon that has hosted numerous dignitaries and celebrities is ready to usher in a new age of travel.
Opened in 1973 and one of the flagship hotels in Marriott’s portfolio, the Los Angeles Airport Marriott has completed a $44 million transformation, reemerging as a stylish, ultramodern hub where travelers can make an authentic Los Angeles connection.
Hotel renovations are commonplace in today’s hotel operation landscape. From facelifts to complete overhauls, properties must take the necessary steps to stay up-to-date with current trends and the needs of today’s travelers.
While the impact a redesign has on the hotel guest is often the first area of concern for management, a team should also place emphasis on inspiring and uplifting staff, as it is their overall project knowledge and feelings towards the transformation that ultimately trickles down to the guest.
SAM FIRST IS A PASSION PROJECT OF MUSIC, ARCHITECTURE AND CLASSIC COCKTAILS
By Richard Foss
It’s halfway through the first set, and the contrabass player alternates between plucking at his strings and bowing, slapping and strumming them. A trombonist sometimes plays softly and melodically, sometimes unleashes sharp dissonances, and often doesn’t play at all. The pianist’s fingers glide up and down the keyboard, either gently tickling the ivories or pounding crashing chords. The Mark Dresser Trio’s performance is riveting, and the audience is watching with such respect that not a whisper interrupts the quiet passages.
With a creative fare, or as we’ve dubbed it, “neighborhood cuisine”, the chef and his brigade have brought in the best food L.A. has to offer – from the crowd fave tuna ceviche to our very own version of the Double Double. Enjoy a vibrant bar scene that is heavily geared towards whiskey and local beer, but we have interesting cocktails, as well.
