LAWA Projects Update: APM Guideway Progressing

AIRPORT PROJECTS CONTINUE STEADY MARCH TOWARD COMPLETION, MOST BY 2023

One of the last remaining sections of the Automated People Mover guideway is progressing along 96th Street as falsework has been erected for concrete placement. 

This section will connect the guideway between the Maintenance and Storage Facility and adjacent to the Metro Crenshaw/LAX train line. Remaining sections of the guideway still to be completed include over both Century and Sepulveda boulevards and between the West Central Terminal Area (CTA) and Center CTA stations.

The Consolidated Rent-A-Car facility officially topped off in concrete in July as the last of 233,000 cubic yards of concrete were poured since breaking ground in October 2019. The Intermodal Transportation Facility-West, LAX’s approximately 3,400-stall parking structure that will offer an economy parking options for travelers, is nearing completion and will open this fall.
