LADWP will be commencing a new power infrastructure improvement project in our area as part of their $4.5 billion Power Infrastructure Plan to accelerate the pace of replacing aging infrastructure in the City. Starting in November 2021, the Scattergood to West L.A. – Sawtelle Modernization project will commence, and it entails the removal of old underground cables and their replacement with new, modern cables through maintenance holes in the streets. The project will run through March 2023. Crews will work intermittently throughout the project alignment. This work requires crews to block a portion of a traffic lane over the maintenance hole in which the vaults are located to accomplish their activities. No street construction is anticipated. The hours of work are 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Saturday.
