ANNUAL PROGRESSIVE DINNER HELPS SUPPORT HIGH LEADERSHIP SCHOOL PROGRAM
Gateway recently raised $8,000 for Westchester YMCA’s Youth & Government Program through ita annual Progressive Dinner. In conjunction with sponsors Hilton Los Angeles Airport, Los Angeles Airport Marriott, Hyatt Regency LAX and WallyPark, guests were treated to exquisite food, music and fun as they jumped from hotel to hotel along Century Boulevard.
Proceeds from the event will support the Westchester Family YMCA’s Youth & Government’s Model Legislature & Court program – the state’s premier youth leadership and civic development program since 1948. The program creates a six-month learn-by-doing experience that teaches the values of democracy by bringing together a cross-section of the state’s high school students. This program provides them with the opportunity to experience government first-hand and to learn how to solve community problems through the democratic process, as well as debate and discuss issues with their peers from throughout California.
