La Quinta Inn & Suites LAX Wraps Up Three-Year Renovation

NEW GENERAL MANAGER MICHAEL BLACKLEY SAID THE HOTEL HAS A WHOLE NEW LOOK

After a complete remodel that saw the La Quinta Inn & Suites LAX remake all of its 281 rooms, as well as its lobby and restaurant, General Manager Michael Blackley, said the hotel is looking better than ever.

“It came out really nice,” said Blackley, who has served as GM for the past six months. “We renovated the rooms 100%, the public space 100%. It only took three years, but we’re finally done and it looks great.” Blackley, who previously served as the general manager of the Embassy Suites Ontario, said the hotel is now primed to go after lots of new business and added that the remodel has helped spur even higher occupancy.

“November was a really good month for us,” said Blackley, adding that the hotel operated at an 88% occupancy rate. “Room rates are staying steady, but with the remodel complete, we will certainly try to drive that rate.”
