`Holiday Luncheon Helps Support Local Non-Profits

Hundreds of people kicked off the holiday season in fine fashion at Gateway L.A.’s 15th Holiday Concert on November 26 at the LAX Marriott Hotel. The event featured the Angel City Chorale, a community of voices that has uplifted people around the world for 25 years.

The spirit and diversity of Los Angeles is reflected in their 160 voices, and attendees celebrated the holidays with sing-alongs and a variety of holiday classics and special performances. Holiday Concert proceeds went to benefit a variety of local community non-profit organizations, including Airport Marina Counseling Service, a non-profit community mental health clinic; EmpowerTech, Los Angeles County’s only non-profit organization devoted to bringing the latest in assistive technology to children and adults living with disabilities; and Westchester Family YMCA’s Youth and Government program, a model legislature and court designed for high school students who are interested in learning more about our governmental process. In addition, attendees donated hundreds of new toys to the Los Angeles Police Department’s annual toy giveaway to benefit children in need.

“It was another spectacular event, and I am so proud of how our members and the community have come together every year to do good for our area,” said Gateway’s Executive Director Laurie Hughes. “Of course, Sue Fink and the Angel City Chorale were the highlight, and we’re very excited that they will be back with us at next year’s Holiday Concert.”
